At Collierville Classical School, we are excited to introduce our exclusive range of Specialty Classes, designed to enrich the educational experience of our students beyond traditional education. 

Specialty Classes at CCS aim to nurture passions, develop skills, and create opportunities for students to explore and excel in various fields. 

These classes are unique opportunities for students to immerse themselves in the world of music, culinary arts, and more under the guidance of accomplished professionals.

IT Fundamentals 1 & 2

Prepare for the Future with Essential IT Skills!

The High School IT Fundamentals Program, taught by Mr. Chago Santiago, offers two separate one-semester courses, each earning one full high school credit. Students may enroll in IT Fundamentals I as a standalone course or continue into IT Fundamentals II to further develop their programming and software engineering skills. Together, these hands-on courses provide a strong foundation for college studies and future careers in technology.

Why Enroll?

IT Fundamentals I provides students with hands-on experience using industry-standard tools and technologies while developing problem-solving and critical thinking skills in information technology. Students will explore key IT disciplines, including programming, networking, cybersecurity, and data science, while preparing for the updated CompTIA ITF+/TECH+ industry certification.

IT Fundamentals II builds on that foundation through hands-on Python programming using professional Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as PyCharm and Visual Studio. Students will explore AI-assisted software development, object-oriented programming, Agile development, DevOps concepts, and modern software engineering practices while solving real-world programming challenges.

  • Fundamentals in IT is an à la carte class. Cost: $485.00 for each 15 week course.

  • Fundamentals in IT will take place every Thursday from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m.

    • Fall Semester IT Fundamentals 1: 15 weeks beginning August 20th.

    • Spring Semester IT Fundamentals 11: 15 weeks beginning January 14

ACT English and Math Intensives

Build Confidence: Achieve Your Best

The ACT English and Math Intensives are eight-week college readiness courses designed for students in grades 10–12. Each course focuses exclusively on its respective section of the ACT, combining focused instruction, authentic ACT-style practice, and proven test-taking strategies to help students build the skills and confidence needed for test day.

Why Enroll?

Students will strengthen the knowledge and strategies most critical to success on the ACT while learning to approach each question with confidence. Through targeted instruction, guided practice, and diagnostic and final assessments, students gain a deeper understanding of key concepts and measurable insight into their progress.

  • ACT Intensives are à la carte classes. Cost: $499.00 for each 8 week course.

  • ACT English Intensive will take place every Thursday for 8 weeks beginning August 20th from 8:00 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.

    ACT Math Intensive will take place every Thursday for 8 weeks beginning August 20th from 9:30 a.m.-10:45 a.m.

  • Grades 10+ . These courses are not designed as remedial instruction.

    • Students should have completed at least one year of high school English and Algebra I (or equivalent). Completion of or current enrollment in Geometry is recommended for the Math Intensive.

    • Ideal for college-bound students seeking to strengthen their ACT English or Math performance.

    • Minimum 5 students per class.

Cooking with Kyle

Hello Collierville Classical School, my name is Kyle Kunstman, and I am the chef at Central Church. My wife and I have been members of Central Church since 2019, and I have worked for the church as the chef since 2020. I am originally from Chicago, IL. My wife and I moved here in December of 2018. I was classically trained in culinary arts at Joliet Junior College (Joliet, IL). Most of my culinary career has been in fine dining and Michelin-starred restaurants, both in Memphis and in Chicago. I am pleased to be offering “Cooking with Chef Kyle” classes to your students. One of the most basic needs for human survival is food, and I can’t wait to teach your students this practical skill in a Christ-honoring atmosphere. 

  • Cooking with Kyle is $560.00 for a 15 week course.

  • Cooking with Kyle is at 11:15 on Thursdays.

Learn Guitar with New Song

New Song Guitar Lessons are taught by Mrs. Jessika Jones, who is passionate about helping students discover the joy of playing guitar while developing a lifelong appreciation for music. Mrs. Jones and her family have been part of Central Church since the fall of 2024, where her husband serves as the Student Ministries Pastor. She enjoys leading and supporting student worship teams and is committed to investing in the next generation of musicians.

Mrs. Jones is passionate about equipping young musicians to use their gifts for God's glory. Whether students hope to lead worship, play with a team, or simply learn a new skill, her goal is to provide a strong musical foundation while encouraging growth in confidence and character.

New Song Guitar Lessons provide a welcoming, encouraging, and non-intimidating environment where students of all ages can learn at their own pace. Lessons focus on developing practical guitar skills, understanding music fundamentals, and building the confidence needed to enjoy making music. Students are encouraged to develop their talents while using music to serve others.

  • Private lessons are scheduled through CCS for each individual student, typically on Wednesdays, after 3:00 or Thursdays during the day.

  • Must have access to a guitar to bring to lessons and to practice at home.

    No formal musical training required.

Manners Matter

Teaching Christ-centered kindness and etiquette.

Manners Matter is a faith-based course designed to equip children with essential etiquette skills, instilling values such as humility, patience, and respect. Through engaging lessons and real-world practice, students will learn to navigate various social settings with confidence, including greeting others, showing patience at the dinner table, and interacting with friends and the opposite sex. By the end of the course, children will have a stronger understanding of proper manners and etiquette, enabling them to confidently display God’s love through their actions and positively impact those around them. 

  • 2027: Manners Matter is $150 for a 5 week course.

  • Manners Matter is at 11:00 on Thursdays. Classes begin March 25, 2027 and will conclude April 22, 2027. Luncheon TBD.

    • Engaging and respectful interactions with our elders.

Men’s Physical Education with

Tuesdays from 3:00-4:00 PM

Today's world routinely proposes that masculinity is toxic and seeks to tame the God-given nature of young men. However, the Bible extols virtues of strength and discipline. Additionally, the apostle Paul says in 1 Timothy 4:8, "For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come."

With this benefit in mind, join Pastor Matt and JP Archer for Men's PE. Our PE class is designed to provide a foundation of knowledge, exercises, and values necessary for developing a physically healthy lifestyle. The course content offers exposure to various movement opportunities, including, but not limited to, running, bench press, squats, full-body exercises, mental discipline, etc. Integrating fitness concepts throughout the content is critical to student success in this course and developing a healthy and physically active lifestyle.

  • Men’s P.E. is $175 for 15 weeks.

  • Must be a boy in 6th-12th grade.

    Parents must sign a waiver to enter their child into this class.

    And most importantly, students must commit to completing the exercises.

  • Men’s P.E. will take place on Tuesdays from 3:00-4:00 PM.

Sewing

Mrs. Anna's sewing classes provide students with a foundation in both hand sewing and machine sewing. While she is mostly self-taught, she has also taken online and in-person sewing classes and continues to challenge herself by learning new techniques, including using a serger and working with more challenging fabrics.

Her passion for sewing began with a desire to share the Good News of Jesus Christ by sewing toys and children's clothing for Operation Christmas Child and Dress a Girl Around the World. She also believes sewing is a wonderful way to be a good steward of God's blessings by purchasing less, mending more, and creating items that can be used and shared with others.

Sewing is for everyone! Girls and boys are welcome, and parents are invited to enroll alongside their child for a unique opportunity to learn together. Whether creating a first project or building on existing skills, students will develop confidence while learning practical techniques they can use for years to come.

    • No prior sewing experience is required.

    • Students will need to purchase supplies for their class. Mrs. Anna will provide a supply list and estimated cost.

    • Parents are welcome to enroll alongside their child.

Extracurricular Policies:

We have a high level of expectation that our teachers will be fully committed to your children and will be in class, on time, to instruct students. Days missed due to inclement weather or a teacher’s absence will be made up before the end of the session.

Every effort should be made to attend scheduled classes. Teachers are not required to make up classes or lessons missed by students. If a student misses an extracurricular class, there will not be an opportunity for a make-up class on an alternate date. Please note that instructors are paid by Collierville Classical School and tuition is not refunded for student absences. A commitment is necessary on behalf of the teachers offering their time for these courses. The instructors are expected to be present and are paid for the scheduled class whether a student is in attendance or absent.  

In the event of inclement weather or holidays, Collierville Classical School follows Central Church’s policies and will notify parents of closures. If the church is open, then lessons will continue as scheduled. If the church is closed, we will reschedule those lessons.
